Nutter Butter Heart Cookie Valentines

“We become what we love and who we love shapes what we become.”
~ St. Clare of Assisi
Inspired by these Simplified Nutter Butter Hearts, one of the girls spent some time making Nutter Butter Cookie Heart Valentines this past weekend in preparation for a St. Valentine’s party and card exchange tomorrow afternoon. They were so easy to make and turned out darling!
All she needed to make them was some Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies (we had some left over from her older brother’s recent Ski themed birthday – I posted his Ski Cake but still need to post the rest of the pictures!), Light Cocoa Candy Melts, and Valentine Sprinkles from our stash. We created some labels with a quote from one of her patron saints to attach to the top of each little treat bag. You are welcome to download our document if you’d like to use it too.
I spent a little time this past weekend transferring some of our past St. Valentine’s Day printables from Scribd to Dropbox and updated the links in the posts:
(Includes Crossword and Word Search)

Maybe it's because it's late as I write this and because I am exhausted from a l-o-n-g somewhat hard day with the grandchildren, but when I just saw this post I was moved to a tear or two by these lovely, pure things: that magnificent quote from St. Clare; an inspirational, noble celebration of Valentine's Day instead of the norm of the day; the love going into making those nut butter delights; and then that most precious sight of what is surely a scapular being worn by a beautiful young girl. God bless you, Jessica, for making my day!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
