The last few years we have really enjoyed giving our children stacks of books for Christmas and I am always looking for great deals and promotions to save on all the books we purchase.

Right now you can get $10 off any book purchase of $25 or more over at Amazon with coupon code: HOLIDAYBOOK

The promotion is valid for a limited time, on orders placed between November 24, 2016 at 12:01am EST and November 28, 2016 at 02:59am EST. Limit one promotional code per customer and account. You can read the complete details here.

I'm still searching for books for this year...
Here are some books that our children will be receiving this Christmas:

(her older brothers have an older box set and this excellent audiobook collection)

OR The Wind in the Willows (illustrated by Robert Ingpen - Help! I can't decide which one!)

Our oldest daughter will also be receiving a Kindle this year. They are all on sale right now!

I'll probably also incorporate some new books supplemental History books for this year:

I'll most likely order these from Sacred Heart Books & Gifts:
FREE SHIPPING until Dec 10th with code: JMJFS

You can find additional books suggestions here:

  1. Thank you for this! I actually used the code to buy a prayer book and a bible study book that I have had on my wish list for months :) Thank you and hope you and your family have a blessed Advent season.

  3. Hi Jessica, Have you heard of the author Matt Christopher? He was a American author who wrote wonderful stories for boys about sports. He is no longer living but his family continues to have his books printed. Our son so enjoyed reading his books when he was in elementary school and he has a nice collection of these sports books. I was specifically thinking about your little guy Snuggles and his love for hockey like his older brothers. Matt Christopher wrote some stories about hockey...The Hockey Machine-1992; Wingman on Ice-1993 and Body Check-2003 to name a few. He wrote many stories about football, baseball and basketball. Perhaps he would be an author you might be interested in...if you have not heard of him. As a mom I highly recommend him. You are so kind to let your readers know about are such a gracious giving person Jessica. It is my prayer that you and your precious baby are doing well. Most Sincerely, Debbie

  4. The Robert Ingpen version has a LOT of pictures. I have the other one, and it is nice, but the large color pictures of Ingpen are great. I think some of the text is over full page pictures (I am trying to remember from borrowing from the library), but as long as that won't be distracting for your reader, I suggest trying Ingpen. Unless you prefer less pictures and some nice introductory material in the anniversary edition.
