Celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes

Immaculate Heart Marshmallows

Heavenly Father,

We, the people of God, gathered in solidarity as did the disciples in the Upper Room, pray for the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the cardinals who will be in conclave for the election of the next Vicar of our Lord Jesus Christ. May the hearts of our cardinals be open to the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, beyond any human judgment, to elect the candidate most pleasing to you, Heavenly Father, and who will guide the Church at this momentous time in history.

We invoke our Mother Mary, united in prayer with the disciples in the Upper Room, to intercede for our cardinals to select the next Holy Father in docility to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, her divine Spouse. With Mary, Mother of God and of the Church, we entrust this conclave to your maternal and Immaculate Heart, and offer these prayers for your guidance and protection over the choosing of the next Vicar of your Son.

1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be

Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us!

(Be sure to join the Novena for Pope Benedict and the Papacy!)

I had purchased a bag of heart shaped marshmallows a few weeks ago at a local grocery store, white and pink mixed. I wasn't sure what I was going to use them for but thought today's feast would be perfect! 🙂

And yes, we have so much to pray and fast for this Lent!

This doesn't have much to do with this post, but I didn't want to go back and put it under the old post. My baby was Baptized on the 3rd of Feb. Her Godmother was kind enough to make the seashell's out of white chocolate with the little label like you had for your little boy (except in pink, of course.) When everything was over and we were getting into the car to leave, some of the kids were saying that they didn't get any, but my one daughter had taken a few, so there was no problem there. I asked my 12 year old son if he had gotten one and his reply was, "Well, I got one, but I thought it was soap so I gave it away." I thought you might get a kick out of that. Thanks for posting your wonderful ideas and prayers. God bless.

Good idea Jessica to pick up things ahead of time! You certainly are gifted. By the way, I was invited to my sons nursery school to share some St. Valentines activities. I used your heart tree and dipped Oreos idea. I also directed them to your website so they could be inspired by a family of seven children!! (A rare thing down here unfortunately)

Hi Jessica, your rice Krispy grotto is perfect! I struggle with making rice crispy treats for some reason. I haven't tried in awhile so I should and then create a grotto.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us!

Oh, that is funny! It also reminds me of something I did to my poor brother-in-law years ago at my my sister-in-laws wedding. She DID have little soap favors and my BIL thought that they were candy… I suggested that he "take a bite and tell us how they taste!" He did… So, so, mean of me! 😉 lol

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
