Celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Happy Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe!

We have dear friends visiting from out of state for the rest of the week, but I wanted to hop online and share a few pictures from this year's celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe!   In addition to reading the two books pictured above, we enjoyed another Tea in Honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  The kids helped set up everything while we anxiously awaited their arrival this afternoon!

.: A Woman Clothed with the Sun :.
Sun Taco Dip
2 cans refried beans, topped with 1 package cream cheese mixed with 1 cup of sour cream and 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning, and then topped with cheddar cheese.  Surround with chips to create the sun's rays.   (Before serving, I did pop it in the oven to melt the cheese.)

Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe, mystical rose, intercede for the Church, protect the Holy Father, help all who invoke you in their necessities. Since you are the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of the true God, obtain for us from your most holy Son the Grace of a firm faith and sure hope amid the bitterness of life, as well as an ardent love and the precious gift of final perseverance. Amen.

  1. That is an awesome spread, Jessica. I love the hill! The best part is your kids are so excited!

  2. PS where did you find that fabric?

  3. Quel monde merveilleux ici chez vous, comme j'aimerai être une fois auprès de vous ... Merci de me donnez autant de joie à chacune de mes visite !
    bisous bisous

  4. Yes, where DID you find that fabric?

  5. This is just beyond amazing! I love that fabric also..where did you find that?

  6. Beautifully done Jessica. You make celebrating feast days meaningful and fun!

  7. Thank you everyone! I wasn't going to do it this year, and at 1:00 (with our company coming at 4:00) the kids and I decided to run to the store for a few things and set it up for our company! I'm so glad we did, and that it all just fell into place with a few simple modifications. :)

I've been trying to find the link to the fabric for you all, but I'm not having any luck. I ran across it online a couple years ago, along with a couple other Our Lady of Guadalupe designs, and purchased a yard and one other with 8 panels (that I thought would work great for a St. Juan Diego Costume someday). I am almost positive that I bought it from Some Art Fabric.

  8. I love how it all came together for you - it was meant to be! Great spread, the kids look thrilled too. Lots of more great ideas here - my #8 was born on this feast day and we always love to enjoy it with Mexico in mind.

  9. The Virgin Mary must be so happy and smiling from Heaven. Beautiful Job.
I found a similar fabric online through Ebay. Sometimes there are people who sell special fabrics by the panel, a little expensive but so worth it. God bless always! Merry Christmas! =)

  10. Loving the tortilla great!

  11. I got my daughter the pop-up book this year for this feast - WHAT A HIT!!! She was LOVING it and smiles and SOOOO excited!!! Thanks for that recommendation in your book list this year!

  12. Wow... just wow! I love the sombreros and the Tilma of Roses! Actually, I love it all! +JMJ+

  13. This is excellent. Our simple feast day plans were preempted by a sick little boy and a very tired mommy. Maybe next year--just can't seem to get as much done this Advent with the flu and pneumonia travelling through the house and me not being my usual energetic self. I have no idea how you did what you did last year with being so pregnant, Sean away, sick kids. You had quite a winter, God bless your preseverance. You are an inspiration.

  14. Is it me, or are the kids in the same basic order in the post in this pic as they are (plus a few!) in the updated family pic on the right? Beautiful family!

  15. Is it me, or are the kids in the same basic order in the post in this pic as they are (plus a few!) in the updated family pic on the right? Beautiful family!

    1. Just seeing your comment on this old post! (I used a new commenting system and didn't realize I wasn't getting comments on old blog posts. Sorry!)

Anyway... That is funny!! The girls ARE indeed in the same order, but both sets of boys are on opposite sides. :)

      Thank you!
