~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life. ~

Our beautiful girls, trying on their pretty dresses the day before their First Holy Communion.

Very happy girls, just before Mass!

Snuggles, apparently, does NOT like the smell of the incense. Thankfully this "cute" picture that Marc captured just shows him turned around, somewhat covering his nose, instead of when he had both hands over his nose, or when he was burying his face in the baby's blanket!

Preparing for Mass
It was a real blessing for Captain to serve Mass for his Godfather, especially since it may be his last trip to visit us before he enters a cloistered monastery in March! Please keep Father in your prayers.

As always, beautiful pictures. I love the picture of Rose. It's simply adorable.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it cute! That picture was taken by our friend Marc. I always love the candid shots that he captures.

pax Christi, lena
Thank you, Lena! Father had just found out that his request had been approved by his superiors and the monastery, and told us the Monday before the baptism. We were so thankful that he was able to come out, even though it was a very quick 30 hour visit packed with sacraments! It looks like we may have another "Ordination Trip" to make after all, when it is time for him to make his solemn vows. We are so happy for him, but it was still so hard to say goodbye, and the day ended with lots of tears, when he had to leave following the reception.
DeleteI'm not very knowledgeable about the difference between monks, brothers, etc., but I do know that monks and brothers belong to a particular order. Does this mean that Father is leaving the FSSP to join a monastic order? --Danielle
DeleteYes, he is entering a traditional monastic order, one that also prays the Latin Mass. My other two brother-in-laws will still be with the FSSP, so thankfully we will still have someone to come out for any future baptisms, God willing! :)
DeleteThanks! I'm going to be in the city where his parish is on a weekend this February. (It's 2 hrs away, but it's the TLM closest to me. You get the credit for getting me interested in attending the TLM!) If I am able to attend Mass again there then, hopefully he'll be saying that Mass and I'll wish him well. --Danielle
DeleteOh, just beautiful pictures! What an incredible blessing to have a family member who is a priest... Father will be added to our prayer intentions! God bless, Annita +JMJ+
ReplyDeleteYour two girls look like a couple of snow queens!
ReplyDeleteWhat's a TLM ? I'm not catholic :)
ReplyDeleteTLM is short for the Traditional Latin Mass.
