{pretty, happy, funny, real}

Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life.

I thought this might be the perfect time to share some pictures from our end of summer family vacation/camping trip this past Thursday-Monday!

Visit Like Mother, Like Daughter for more pictures of contentment!

  1. You even make camping look classy! LOL
    Your children always look so happy. And that must be a little brother. Looks like it was fun!

  2. HAHAHA! It was hardly "classy!" My husband thought I was crazy, when I packed the pretty pink roses leftover from the birthday party, but I just couldn't leave them behind! ;)

    And, yes, that is my youngest sibling, and my very first Godson! He is 15, and my children LOVE Uncle David! It was so much fun to have him go with us, and he was such a HUGE help!

  3. I can't believe you brought the roses!!! :) Rose is so adorable, and I love her fire fighter boots.

  4. Actually, those are Snuggles' boots, but I couldn't find her shoes that morning and she got tired of waiting and put her brothers on herself. I really didn't have the best camping clothing/shoes/etc for our little Rose, but she had a blast! (I just had to try really really hard to ignore ALL the dirt!)

  5. LOL! I love that!..."I just had to try really hard to ignore all the dirt!" :) That shot of Rose with the dirt on her face is too cute!

    Looks like the kids had a blast. You're much braver than I. I've only been camping once when I was pregnant and that was the *last* time.

  6. I love the boots too! My son has a pair just like that, and the little plastic loopy thing for the tag is still on them (as it seems to be in your photo.) Too funny!

  7. Looks like a great time. I love the roses brought into the wild!

  8. YES! The little plastic loop is still on those boots, and I noticed it when I took the picture. :) I didn't have anything to cut it off with up at the campground, but maybe I will remember to take it off soon - or maybe not! ;)

    Kelly ~ The last time I tent camped was when I was 8-9 months pregnant with Snuggles, and I said that was the *last* time. This time wasn't nearly as hard - I borrowed a mat from my parents and my husband brought along a cot to set up for me, but it was still pretty tough. For some reason I started retaining water really bad while we were up there and couldn't believe my eyes when I got home and saw that I had gained over 10 pounds in a few days... It is gone now and I can see my ankles again, but it was pretty hard to walk by the end of each day. It was worth it though and my kids, especially, had SO much fun.

  9. Great pictures! I only "know" you through your blog, but I was not surprised to see the roses! ;) You are wonderful! +JMJ+

  10. Great pictures! Camping is a lot of work, I know, but those memories will stay with your kids FOREVER.

    And I love that dirty-face picture. SEE!!! Even Jessica's kids get dirty on camping trips!!! LOL! :)

    Happy Monday, Jessica. :)
