Celebrating. . .

. . . the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and thanking God for his many blessings!
(Especially this one, this one, and this one! Congratulations to all of you!!!)

We had so much fun making this year’s Grotto for Our Lady of Lourdes, this time using Cocoa Pebbles. . . Yum!!!

“…a Lady dressed in white with a blue waist-belt

and a yellow rose on each foot.”

O Lady of Bernadette, with the stars of heaven in your hair and the roses of earth at your feet, look with compassion upon us today as you did so long ago on Bernadette in the Grotto of Lourdes.

This turned out so cool! (Although I almost miss the colors from the fruity pebbles). I've had a few pictures sent in of edible grotto today, and they're posted over on my facebook page if you'd like to see them. One mom actually made an entire spring and painted a Bernadette peg doll as well! 🙂

Thank you, Lacy. I just clicked over to Facebook to see the other Grottos. Very neat! The peg dolls in the one picture look like the Our Lady of Lourdes Play Set from St. Luke's Brush!

We ended up keeping our Grotto simple and I, too, almost missed the colors from the last couple year's Fruity Pebbles Grottos, but my children loved that it looked more authentic and I loved that it was cocoa and tasted so much better.

It is indeed the dolls from the St. Luke's Brush Our Lady of Lourdes play set. 🙂 This made my day!

Cool idea, Jessica! I will have to use regular Rice Krispies though, just to make sure they get eaten. Not sure if all my kids will go for cocoa or fruity for that matter. Now to paint the little peg dolls!

    Thanks,
    Jennifer

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
