*Just try and picture stone in place of that ugly grey/black hole beneath the new mantel.. That's what I keep trying to do! lol! It might be awhile before we are actually able to complete this project.

Lovely ambiance! The entire room is lovely and has a contemporary feel to it so not sure if I can picture stonework either. Although today they mix things and moods together...it would be whatever your vision holds. You certainly have made wonderful choices so far........
ReplyDeleteAt least you HAVE a mantel ;) I have lived in...5 places and still haven't had one. Oh well, one day =) You're looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove your new mantel:) Oh and you now can put up your Prepare letters! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteLovely! The whole room has a warm, cozy look to it.
ReplyDeleteI love this view of the room! I couldn't visualize it before seeing this bird's-eye view. It's just lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you all! We feel very blessed!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous ~ Really? I don't think of our home as contemporary! Perhaps that is due to the wood ceilings in the living room, which you can't see in the picture. I think it will all depend on the color stone we use. We are looking at a couple called "Chardonnay" and "Caramel" and I think they will blend in nicely with the rest of the room.
Anne ~ I often feel that our home now feels cold, rather than warm and cozy! The lighting really makes all the difference. :-) I'd like to get a bigger rug someday, to cover a bit more of the tile.
Aimee ~ It really helps see how everything ties together, doesn't it!
I will be very anxious to see what you choose. The mantel is very lovely and warm looking! Can't wait to see it all finished.....your home is just so lovley & inviting and what a great job you all have done with it! PJ
ReplyDeleteThank you PJ! We hired our cabinet maker to build it for us, using the same wood and stain as our kitchen cabinets. We showed him a couple pictures of what we had in mind and he did a great job!
