He didn't turn out nearly as cute as I would have liked, but I don't think the kids will mind.
**Notes to self for next year**
- Stick with the color green. (This dragon started out
orangepeach and then ended up purple, at the request of my children. I think he looked better green!) - Buy extra "extra" frosting. (I thought that "extra" can would be more than enough, but ended up not being able to frost the
Ding Dongspoor dragons thighs and feet. Oh well!) - Fondant makes MUCH better flames than Gummy Worms! ;)
- Don't "hide" the Keebler Cookies
. (You will probably not be able to find them when it comes time to actually make the cake. However, hershey kisses make an easy substitute for the spikes.)
I hope you all have a very Happy Feast of St. George!
I love the cake - purple and all. My son was St. George for Halloween this past year and will flip when he sees this!
ReplyDeleteI don't know... I kinda like the purple. :) and I love your little cocktail swords! So creative and cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Jessica.
God bless!

ReplyDeleteI might have to copy your purple dragon next year :)
Many Blessings,
Melanie
Oh my goodness, Jessica, I can't believe you think he could have been cuter?! I am in awe of all you accomplish and it is all so much fun. You are amazing!
ReplyDeletei love him he is so cute! we did one for my oldest girls bday a few years ago fruit rollups make great flames (and wings) too!
ReplyDeleteThat. Is. So. Cool. lol...
ReplyDeleteMy boys would love this!!
I'm a huge sucker for purple. This came out too cute! Love the Hershey's kiss spikes down his back :-)
ReplyDeleteI think he's cute! And ditto on liking the purple:) Thanks for sharing your celebration and goodness!
ReplyDeleteHe looks great and I like his spiky skin.
ReplyDeletethe purple is great and i love the hershey kisses... another to do for next year. my kids loved hearing the story today (w/ chocolate milk, mini bundt cakes, and orange slices for tea). thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAw, don't you hate hiding things and then not being able to find them?? I did that with some Christmas presents I bought for my husband one year, but I didn't even remember to look for them... when we moved from our apartment into our house, he found the bag and asked, "Hey, what's this?" so I couldn't even save them for the next year! When you find the cookies, you can all enjoy them as an extra treat, lol!
ReplyDeleteThe cake is so cute... I do think the Hershey's Kisses substituted quite well for spikes down his back!
What are you kidding? This is sooo cute. we missed the feast...shucks!
ReplyDeleteHe's awesome! You always do a great job. We used Hershey's kisses too, the cherry cordial ones, which added some juicy red liquid to our dragon, upon slaying!
