Very adorable ... we did an enchanted fairy garden theme for my daughter's 7th birthday. It was a huge hit!
ReplyDeletevery cute! Did you see the fairy houses and fairies in the newest Hearthsong cataloge? Nobody buy too many of them! I'm hoping there will be some put on clearance later! :)
ReplyDeleteIt came out GREAT!!! Thanks for taking the time to post.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Chiquita!
So cute!! Is the cake made from about four or five layers?? That's my dream cake, lol!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the fairies to put on it?
Thank you everyone! I was very excited to share a picture with you all! :)
ReplyDeleteIt really was very easy to make and I was able to make it completely from things I already had in the cupboard, without having to go to the store! Yay!!!
It is made with box boxes of cake mix (4 - 8" round cakes), trimmed/leveled (sorta), stacked and frosted with milk chocolate frosting.
I didn't have any white frosting to mix with the chocolate to make light brown for the top so I used the last of my powdered sugar mixed with a tiny bit of milk and peanut butter. The fondant was a Christmas gift from my mil to the girls and I cut the leaves, door, and windows out of that, and then just some green coconut for the "grass." I picked up the flowers on clearance at Michaels just after Easter and thought they added a nice little touch.
I ordered the flower fairies online from The Turtle Trail. "The Lily of the Valley Fairy" was a gift from my parents and the "Tulip Fairy" was from us. They will be her "new Christmas Ornaments" for this year. (I also ordered a couple other fairies to save for the other girls for Christmas, and so I could get the free shipping. The pictures really don't do them justice, they are SO cute!)
Considering I was able to make this while juggling a fussy 4 month old shows just how easy it is to make! ;)
LOVE THAT CAKE! Your daughter must have loved it too:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! I'm not sure what I like more the fairies or the chocolate. Too cute :):):)
ReplyDeletelol! It is also a Chocolate Cake! Two of the layers are Milk Chocolate and the other two layers are Triple Chocolate! It is not going to be good to have so much chocolate cake in the house! ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your sweet daughter. What a wonderful cake! I love flower fairies and so do my grand-girls. Lovely idea, and I'll bet it was a super delicious cake, leftovers? ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cake Jessica, LOVE IT.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your little/big 5 yr old.
Have a great day,
God Bless,
Hugs Robyn xx
What a cake! Wished I was five!...
ReplyDeleteVery, very cute! How nice that it was simple to make, too... I was usurped as the birthday cake baker by my oldest daughter and she likes to see your ideas. Of course all of our little people are boys so fairies are out for the time being! :D
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Chiquita!
Amazing! Cake decorating is one of my favorite things... I am always looking for a birthday, holiday, feast day as an excuse to bake and decorate a cake! It is precious... just like the birthday girl! JMJ

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Chiquita!
ReplyDeleteThis is unrelated to Chiquita's birthday, but I am a teacher of 3rd grade CCD, and we have a long time member of our congregation who will be ordained next month...my husband and I (my co-teacher) are looking for good resources to explain Holy Orders to our class. Any recommendations you have are much appreciated!
First of all, Happy Birthday, Chiquita! Jessica, Thanks for sharing how you made this beautiful cake. My 5yo would love this and I'm just wishing that we didn't have to wait until next February to make one. Maybe we can find another occasion:)Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteDear Jessica,
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful cake. It is so beautiful.
I think I will have a couple of girls who will want it too.
Thanks for the instructions too
God Bless
