Santa Lucia Day

Saint Lucy, you did not hide your light under a basket, but let it shine for the whole world, for all the centuries to see. We may not suffer torture in our lives the way you did, but we are still called to let the light of our Christianity illumine our daily lives.

Please help us to have the courage to bring our Christianity into our work, our recreation, our relationships, our conversation every corner of our day. Amen.

  1. Darling! I had my Little Flowers group make St. Lucia Crowns for our last meeting, St. Lucy.
I've been going out of sequence in LF to coordinate with the saint's feast days and I sure do miss following your lead.
You continue to be in our prayers.
    Pax Christi -
P.S. I haven't forgotten about the LF book. I hop eto get it to you soon!

  2. Thank you both!

Lena ~ Last year we made St. Lucy crowns at our December Little Flowers Meeting too, and, had I planned a meeting for this December, we would have done the same this year! =) It's such a perfect project for the little girls and they LOVE making them! I sure miss having our Little Flowers meetings... March is starting to seem like a long ways off, but I am sure I'll be thankful for the break as soon as the baby arrives. =)

  3. How lovely! You do such beautiful, fun things with your children! name is Carrie and I love your blog!!!

  4. I really want to get that book! I need to go over to Paperback Swap and see if I can get it... someday, lol. I love the girls outfits! Adorable!

  5. I really like how you lit candles on the crown like cake. I used battery powered street lamps from a Christmas village for the bun tray for Holly. This was her first year and she of course wants to do it again:)

  6. Hey, you got the gowns! Look like a beautiful Santa Lucia morning. Glad you got it all in before your little rose arrived!
