Novena to Saint Thérèse

O St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, who during your short life on earth became a mirror of angelic purity, of love strong as death, and of wholehearted abandonment to God, now that you rejoice in the reward of your virtues, cast a glance of pity on me as I leave all things in your hands. Make my troubles your own, speak a word for me to Our Lady Immaculate, whose flower of special love you were — to that Queen of Heaven “who smiled on you at the dawn of life” Beg her powerful intercession the grace I yearn for so ardently at this moment…and that she join with it a blessing that may strengthen me during life, defend me at the hour of death, and lead me straight on to a happy eternity. Amen.

O God, who did inflame with the Spirit of Love, the soul of your servant Thérèse of the Child Jesus, grant that we also may love you and make you much loved. Amen.

DAY NINE

O St. Thérèse, seraphic virgin, beloved spouse of our Crucified Lord, you who on earth did burn with a love so intense toward your God and my God, and now glow with a bright and purer flame in paradise, obtain for me, I beseech you, a spark of that same holy fire which shall help me to put things of the world in their proper place and live my life always conscious of the presence of God. As I conclude my novena I also beg of you to secure for me the special favor I seek at this time…

St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, pray for us.

Hi Jessica- I just HAD to write you a note to ask you if you consider the following a 'shower of roses' sent down upon me as I said this novena…
We went apple picking this morning and on the way home, my 4 yr old requested her favorite song. I could not find the CD, so instead, I put in another one like it (by CATCHAT-have you heard of it?) Anyway, this certain CD was all about the Saints/all Saints day-and as she was getting frustrated to hear 'her song' and I frantically just pushed through a few tracks and it stopped on one-which was all about St. Therese!
I am not so good as you are at finding out where St. Therese sends her roses. I have been looking very carefully, though. What do you think? would this be considered her shower of roses on me?
Just curious as to what you think!
    thanks!
    God bless,

Mary ~ That is so interesting that you mentioned Cat Chat just now — I was just finishing posting about our Michaelmas Celebration which included listening to one of those CD's! As for whether it was your rose or not, I am not sure — she always has to make it super obvious for me… lol! Nevertheless, I don't think these little things are coincidences though, so perhaps it was?! God bless!!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
