Happy Feast of the Nativity of Mary!

Lemon Blueberry Cake for Our Lady's Birthday!

Family Prayer to Maria Bambina (Baby Mary)

Maria, given us by God, in the sweetness of the face of a child, look upon this family that is your very own and in your motherliness, grant perennial youth to our hearts.

May there arise in us a renewed commitment in our vocation to follow Jesus and may our charity be more joyful from this day.

Teach us that love can stand with steadfastness at the foot of the cross.

  1. Your cake looks YUMMY and the prayer is great! Bet Mother Mary thinks so too:)

  2. Your children look like they had lots of fun! It doesn't look like it took long to blow the candles out. :) We made a cake as well, but it took a couple of tries to get all 10 of the candles out!!

  3. The cake WAS yummy!! It was also very easy to make... a necessity for me lately! =)

And yes, the candles were out almost instantly with all of them working together!

  4. Dear Jessica,
That is a great cake! I love layer cakes, so do the children, it makes for more to eat ♥.
    Have a lovely day.
    God Bless

  6. Hey! We just ate our cake too, lol... I guess great minds think alike! Ours was carrot cake in honor of C week as well. :)

  7. Twinkle Toes is looking so grown up these days!

That cake looks yummy! I have that book on my Christmas list (make for St. Nicholas' feast?!). I made cupcakes last night...yellow cake, white frosting, and blue sprinkles...it was quick and yummy and well-received.

But, next year, when I'm not 7 months pregnant, I'm making that one...YUM-O!

  8. Ah! I am so glad that I stumbled across your blog just before heading to bed! My husband and I have been reminding each other that the Nativity of Mary was coming up, but then both of us forgot today! I love that you celebrated it with your children. The cake looks wonderful.

  9. Your family is beautiful and God has abundently blessed you. May God reward you for your faithfulness.
    Your sister in Christ,
Psalm 139:13 My favorite verse in the Bible - please share it with your family.
Let us meet at the Communion table of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
