Building a Model Solar System

The boys have really been enjoying Exploring Creation With Astronomy. (And what a perfect year to study it, since it is the International Year of Astronomy!)  The topic for our first few weeks has been "What is Astronomy?"  In addition to reading their textbook, the boys have started putting together their Astronomy Notebook, as well as Lap Books.   This past week they also built a model solar system.   To keep it simple, I purchased a kit for them to use, and we all had so much fun!  Even the girls were able to help with some of the painting.   Here are a few pictures:

Next week we will be moving on to Lesson 2 and start learning more about "The Sun."
