Well, I was hoping to finish up my
Alphabet of Saints today and give the completed set to my girls for Christmas. I tried, honestly I did, but either some of the saints are just plain harder to paint than others, or I am just too tired. I still have 10 left to do, and each one I have attempted tonight has turned out awful. Anyhow, since
tomorrow it is
already Christmas Eve I changed plans and will not pressure myself into finishing our collection. Instead I decided to keep it simple and just paint them each two dollies in the same colors as the
wooden castle
they will be receiving. They are far from perfect, but they are made with love, and that is what matters. I think my girls will like them just the same... What do you think?
I think they're adorable! And the girls won't see the flaws that you see---at least that's what I keep telling myself about the gifts I made for my kids.
ReplyDeletethis isn't actually a comment about these but rather to thank you for all the inspiration you've given me in the past year through your blog. A holy and happy Christmas to you and your family!!

I was wondering if you had pictures of all the other Saints that you have painted? The first ones that you did were very cute.
ReplyDeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!!
They are so beautiful. Wish I could paint as good as that!
ReplyDeleteThey will love them!
They're perfect! Your girls will be so pleased. I'm glad you decided not to pressure yourself to finish all 26 before Christmas. Have a blessed Christmas.

You are right; they are made with love and that is what counts. Isn't it a wonderful feeling when we realize we can't do it all and relieve the pressure we put on ourselves? You can still make them at your leisure. I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas, Jessica!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous, Jessica!!! People would pay for those!! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI think they are beyond adorable. You've done a great job. Honestly, reading some of your posts further back, I don't know how you do it all. :-) The baking, schooling, and so forth. That's alot. I'm sure you're girls will be more than thrilled, and that castle is just too cute! My girls would go crazy over something like that. Have a wonderful and RELAXED Christmas!:-)
ReplyDeleteYou are so artistic Jessica! They are precious! And I love that castle - my nieces would love that!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your kind comments.
ReplyDeleteYou know, sometimes I feel that since I blogged about something, I HAVE to get to it! However, that does not always happen, and then I give myself a guilt trip over it. :) I really wanted to finish my little saints, but they are not going anywhere so I can finish them soon. I am feeling a bit more inspired just looking at these cute little dolls. So maybe there is still hope that I will someday finish the set.
Heather ~ I promise I will post pictures of the rest when they are all done. Just don't hold your breath! ;)
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!
They're sweet!!
ReplyDeleteThey are SUPER cute!! It is frustrating to have your heart set on completing something and not being able to do it. I KNOW. I got most things done for Christmas... but, a few things I did not complete. Maybe for... a special treat one day!! :)
ReplyDeleteHmm . . . Those dresses seem a little low-cut and busty, don't you think?
ReplyDeletei love those little dollies. they are so precious. my daughter recently made some for her doll house that were similar, one had red hair like anne of green gables.yours look like sophisticated little ladies.
ReplyDeleteSooo cute... and I know your kiddos could NEVER dislike anything you made or gave them. They are so thankful for ALL you do!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
