Plans for the Feast of St. Teresa of Avila

by | Oct 14, 2008 | Crafts, Feast Day Plans, Liturgical Year, St. Teresa of Avila | 13 comments

Last month while I was looking for ideas to celebrate the feast of St. Therese of Lisieux, I ran across a darling St. Teresa of Avila Paper Doll.

UPDATE: Thanks to a reader, here is a new link for the paper doll!

Since St. Teresa of Avila’s feast is celebrated tomorrow, October 15th, I printed the paper doll out onto card stock for my girls. I’m so excited to give it to them… They are going to love it!

Oh! Also in honor of St. Teresa, I am planning on making Pan de Santa Teresa (St. Teresa’s Bread) for breakfast. I just posted the recipe over at Catholic Cuisine. It sounds very yummy and fairly simple… Right now, simple is good! 🙂

Oh my Lord! How true it is that whoever works for you is paid in troubles! And what a precious price to those who love you if we understand its value. ~ Saint Teresa of Avila

LOVE IT!!!! I have a whole shoebox(and then some) FULL of paper dolls. I have collected paper dolls for awhile, from Saints, to Dolls from around the world, there’s Shirley Temple, American Girl, and too many more to think of. I have been adding to them over the years and have been saving them for Punky…hoping she WILL someday play with them. This one of St. Teresa is beautiful. I will add it into the box. Thanks for sharing.
    Blessings

Ha, ha, ha, Regina. Na-na-na-na-na… 😛

I love paper dolls. I haven’t collected them in years. I actually have… lol… a paper doll set of Ronald and Nancy Reagan, never used. I wonder how much that thing is worth! Oh well, it is in a box somewhere.

Thank you for sharing the link Jessica!

    And see you tonight! YEAH!

Angela ~ I wish I could help you. . . I think I downloaded it to my old computer, when I first ran across it online, and I haven't been able to find the document on my "new" computer. I have been looking a number of times over the past few months. If you find a copy somewhere I'd love a copy as well!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
