Smoky Mountain Picnic

It was so nice to be able to see hubby today. He has been working the 3pm to 7am shift, and was able to meet us for Mass this morning after he got off. I had packed along our feast and so after Mass we headed up to the lake near fire camp for a picnic lunch.

We found a nice shady spot under a few trees not too far from the lake. Despite the smoke, it was still beautiful.

Rascal got right to work coloring in the brand new coloring book he received from the tooth fairy last night. Can you believe it? She actually remembered on the FIRST night for ONCE!!

Awww! There is my toothless boy, with a bouquet of flowers for his momma!

Lunch was delicious!!!

Although, it is a little bit harder to eat without those two front teeth…

Hubby isn’t the only one that hasn’t been sleeping! Yikes!

After lunch it was time for a little running and exploring…

The time flew, and we had to let daddy go back to camp so he could try and get a couple more hours of sleep before he was back on the clock at 3pm. We miss him already!!!

Your previous post about painting the wee saints has inspired me to give it try. I painted all weekend and am through Blessed Kateri. Your wee saints helped me to visualize taking the picture from the book to painting on the doll. I know have the confidence to finish up on my own…however I am anxiously awaiting the rest of your week saints. I will post on my blog when I finish. Thanks!

    Thank you everyone!

RMA ~ That is wonderful! I would love to see a picture of them!!! I am not quite sure how I will pull off Blessed Kateri… That is why I stopped with her. Hopefully I will have some extra time to continue soon, though it may be awhile with my husband gone.

Aubrey ~ Your right… There never is enough time! It goes SO fast!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
