Sledding on New Year’s Eve

Sing a song of winter,
Of frosty clouds in air!

Sing a song of snowflakes
Falling everywhere.

Sing a song of winter!
Sing a song of sleds!

Sing a song of tumbling
Over the heels and heads.

Up and down a hillside
When the moon is bright,

Sledding is a tiptop
Wintertime delight.

~ A Sledding Song by Norman C. Schlichter

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!
May God bless you abundantly!

How beautiful! Thank you for the fun photos. It's a snowless New Year's Day for my family, but we're looking forward to the snowy days ahead.

Happy New Year! Looks like a perfect sledding holiday! We're "iced in" at our son and daughter-in-law's house here in Texas, but we don't mind. We're enjoying getting to know our 1-week-old grandson!

We actually just drove the RV out for the day. We weren't sure if we were going to find snow, but finally started seeing some on the ground just before we arrived at the Snow-Park, just enough for a fun afternoon of sledding. The RV made the whole trip so much easier and was the perfect place to take the little ones to warm back up, with plenty of room for everyone to dry off and change afterwards. 2014 was such a challenging year for our family, from start to finish, and this was such a nice way to end the year. I hope you have a blessed 2015 too! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you, too! What a gorgeous place to sled — it looks surreal! I am sad that we have had a brown Christmas. It's really cold, but no snow!

I hope you are able to enjoy those snowy days soon! We haven't had any snow at our home either and had to travel nearly two hours to get to the snow, but it was worth the drive!

This particular snow-park is in the middle of an old growth forest, right across the street from where we went camping and hiking last summer. It really is gorgeous!

Snow didn't come for Christmas, but it did arrive on New Years Eve over here! Gotta look at the positive in life, right?

Jessica! I had been having withdrawal symptoms for your lovely photos! No more! A very Happy New Year to you all. That slope is the perfect sledging venue. And Sean is clearly a crazy dude when is comes to snow and slopes!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.
