Thank you for the beautiful posting! You are blessed to have such a wonderful parish community.
How do you encourage your girls to wear a veil? Mine are so stubborn about even the thought of it crossing their heads:( Even with the example of a big sister and myself, as well as all the other girls in the congregation. Any thoughts of encouragement would be great!
Blessings from the far tip of the Northwest,

Kathleen ~ We are very blessed to have this wonderful retired priest in our area, who helps make living in a liberal state/diocese bearable! 🙂

I don't know what to tell you in regards to encouraging your girls to wear veils… My girls have worn them ever since they were very young and they have never complained, even though they and I are usually the only ones – other than a few of the older women at some of the Masses we attend – that wear veils. It isn't at all common here… Rose recently insisted on wearing one as well, without any prompting from me. 🙂

Pam ~ I loved that picture too!! A very dear priest who recently spent a couple months in our area just left the following Facebook comment on this picture saying:

Priceless! Keep this photo for when they grow up. It will be a reminder to always cultivate this faith with the heart of child. But look at their faces. Such infused wisdom even at this tender age. Their faces are those of men looking upon God.

I sure love my little altar boys! ♥

Gorgeous pictures, Jessica. Is the baby's scarf handmade? It is darling. I have veils for the girls, but I love this little scarf for the really little ones!

Back here to ask where you got all the scarves, I guess. I like the white for the little girls. I only have black.

Anonymous ~ Yes, the crocheted veil that Rose is wearing was a gift from a friend, handmade by her mother-in-law. Isn't it beautiful?! You can find the pattern here.

The one that my middle daughter is wearing is from Modesty Veils, called the Girl's Kerchief Tie Veil.

My oldest daughter is wearing a veil that I purchased years ago from a Spanish Lace shop. I had gotten myself a black one as well and was so so sad when I lost it since it was my favorite.

    Hope that helps!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
